Dr Scott Mouat, Owner / Operator
Unlike many Chiropractors, there was no single, profound experience that led me to joining the profession.
I first became aware of chiropractic at the age of 12, when I was living in the small rural community of Tirohanga, where my parents owned a dry stock farm.
Mum and Dad went to see the local Taupo Chiropractor, Phil McMaster, and decided it would be valuable to take my brother, sister and I along to get checked as well. After that first visit, as a family we continued to have on-going regular care during the time we lived in Tirohanga.
And it was these visits that sowed the seed for me to become a Chiropractor.
With the support, belief and encouragement of an inspiring individual, Phil, I had the confidence to pursue chiropractic as a career and I never looked back.
I graduated from Taupo Nui–A–Tia College in 2001, and went on to graduate from the NZ College of Chiropractic (NZCC) in 2007.
Upon graduating from NZCC I wanted to return to a rural lifestyle, and had my heart set on the King Country area. I found out Otorohanga didn’t have a Chiropractor and on March 12th 2008, King Country Chiropractic opened its doors.
We pride ourselves on delivering quality chiropractic care for the large rural community of the Otorohanga, Waitomo, and Ruapehu regions, and operate a satellite practice from Taumarunui every Tuesday.
When I’m not in the office you can find me on the cricket field in the summer months and on the indoor cricket court or the slopes of Mt Ruapehu in the winter
